The new Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO) apply, which are intended to help consumers obtain appropriate financial products by requiring issuers and distributors to have a consumer-centric approach to the design and distribution of their financial products. As part of these new DDO obligations, insurers are required to create a written Target Market Determination (TMD) for all their policies which are accompanied by a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

A TMD helps you to understand the class of customers an insurance policy has been designed for and who it is not. A TMD does not replace the terms and conditions, nor the disclosures made, in the PDS. Avoca is required to make available these TMDs should you wish to review them. 

Before making a decision to enter or renew an insurance policy, you should consider whether it is appropriate for your specific circumstances and read the relevant PDS and TMD.
