Riding for Youth

Riding for Youth

The Annual Ride for Youth kicked off on the 1st of April (timely you may say on April Fool’s Day) and again Charlie and his lycra clad team cycled in the name of Youth Focus, a charity that is very dear to us at Avoca.

For those of you who are not familiar with it, The Hawaiian Ride for Youth is one of Australia’s premier charity events. Held annually over 5 days, the riders travel from Albany to Perth covering over 700kms to raise money for Youth Focus.

Whilst cycling through the towns of Walpole, Pemberton, Busselton, Bunbury, Frankland River, Bridgetown, Collie and Mandurah the riders visit high schools to engage the students in the issues of youth suicide, depression and self harm and the services that Youth Focus provide.

We would like to congratulate Team Avoca and the other 100 plus riders who raised $2million in the name of Youth Focus, what an amazing effort!!
